More Than Ever

For those of you who don't know I just so happen to have a taste for Southern Gospel. Tonight I guess I needed something to express exactly where I am in life right now. If you haven't been around me in awhile let me tell you where I am at... I don't think I have ever felt as close to God as I feel right now at this moment in life. God is moving and working in my life and at Trinity Family like I have never seen Him work before. It is quite exciting. Wait. Let me rephrase that... IT IS AWESOME!!!!! :) Wherever you are, I hope you are seeing God at work in your life and the lives of those around you too. Anyway, as I was listening to my iPod tonight the following song came on...it's called More Than Ever by the Gaither Vocal Band. It describes where I am at to a T. I am not one for posting lyrics but here it goes...
When I started my journey in fresh childlike trust
I believed that the Lord’s way was best.
I would read in His Word how He mothered the bird
and grieved when it fell from its nest.
How I felt His delight when I chose to do right,
and I prayed I would not make Him sad.
We would meet on the way in the cool of the day,
what a pure sweet communion we had.
Oh, but now more than ever I cherish the cross.
More than ever I sit at His feet.
All the miles of my journey have proved my Lord true;
And He is so precious to me.
The road I have traveled has sometimes been steep,
through wild jagged places of life.
Sometimes I’ve stumbled and fallen so hard
that the stones
Cut my soul like a knife.
But the staff of my Shepherd would reach out for me
and lift me to cool pastures green.
With oil of the spirit anointing my wounds,
there I’d rest by the clear healing stream.
Oh, but now more than ever I cherish the cross.
More than ever I sit at His feet.
All the miles of my journey have proved my Lord true;
And He is so precious to me.
Is Love’s Old Sweet Story too good to be true?
Do you find all this hard to believe?
Has the cruel world we live in so battered your heart
that the hurt child inside you can’t grieve?
I can’t say I blame you.
I’ve been where you are.
But all I can say is
It’s true!
You’re wanted,
you’re precious,
you’re the love of His heart,
and the old rugged cross was for you.

I love that Gaither song, too Andy! Hoep you're doing well.

The Nazarene Revolutionary Guard has declared a holiness jihad on all the emergent heretics who have invaded our denomination. We vow to arrest all the evil participants of this heresy. We will send them to re-education camps where we will torture them with Gaither videos and Stan Toler sermons.
We will celebrate the success of this Insurgency by holding a good ole' Nazarene potluck where all of us can pig out at the buffet and show our fat bellies to all the world to see. Drinking and smoking are still considered sins according to our Holy book (aka: The Manual), but obesity is allowed under the rules laid down by the College of Cardinals (aka: the GS's) in Lenexa.
We encourage everyone to pray five times a day toward our Mecca in Lenexa and ask God to help us spread the message of holiness. We require that every good Nazarene make a hajj to General Assembly once in their lifetime. By making this hajj, your sins will be forgiven.
Long live the Insurgency! Long live the Revolution! Long live the Nazarene Revolutionary Guard!
